Coach AprilApril Hennington


April Hennington, is the head coach for the Cheer/Dance/Step program and has been cheering since the age of 5. Her vast experience spans 15 years of competitive cheering and includes the following accomplishments:
  • Championship Cheer Squad 1991-1993
  • All Star cheerleader years 1991-1993
  • National All-American Cheerleader 1994
  • Regional All-American Cheerleader 1994-1998
  • Championship Cheer Squad 1994-1998
  • National Competitive Cheer Squad 1994-1998

Coach April also has numerous years of gymnastic, cheer, dance, and tumbling training with Capital Gymnastics and Cheer Station.

 

Coach KJKirshan Murphy


Kirshan Murphy (Coach KJ), is the vocal director of the program. As part of his extensive experience, Mr. Murphy has performed under the direction of Robert Shaw and Dr. Andre Thomas. As one of the featured soloists, he performed the character Sportin' Life in the concert version of the opera, 'Porgy and Bess'. He has performed at Carnegie Hall with the Tallahassee Community Choir and The Collegiate Chorale (under the direction of Robert Bass). Kirshan also performed on a two week long diplomatic tour of Vietnam with Dr. Thomas and the Florida State University Singers. Under the direction of Robert Shaw, he along with other great singers performed the Brahm's Requiem for which Shaw received a Grammy Award for his edit. Murphy also had the good fortune of performing with William Warfield and The Billy Taylor Trio.
